John Thomas Carrington

John Thomas Carrington, son of Eva Scott Carrington and the late James Russell Carrington, Sr., was born on Nov. 10, 1954 in Prospect, Va. He departed this life on Dec. 26, 2010 at his residence in Prospect, Va.

John graduated from Prince Edward County high School in 1975. He accepted the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age and joined Sulphur Spring Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member until God called him home.

He was the type that LOVED to talk. If you didn't know him, you did by the time you finished talking to him. When you asked John how he felt, he always said “great”; even if it was one of his bad days. His strong faith in God is what kept him here this long. When John was ready, God reached out His hand and told him to come home.

He worked with Thomasville Furniture Company (Appomattox, Va) for 23 years until his health made him unable to work in July 2005.

Preceded him in death were: his father, James Russell Carrington, Sr.; two brothers, Herman Lewis Carrington and James Russell Carrington, Jr.; a sister, Shirley Lee Carrington.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother Eva Scott Carrington; three sisters, Eva Epperson and Mary Robertson (John), of Prospect, Va, Linda Marshall (Randy), of Victoria, Va; one brother, William Carrington (Evelyn), of Meherrin, Va; eight aunts, five uncles, three great-aunts, 2 great uncles, and host of nieces. Nephews, cousins, and friends.
